Our new Society pins ($5.) and decals ($3.) are a big hit. Order yours today!  Our newly elected board will be exploring the distribution of our newsletter in the   future. It is presently on our web-site www. ripoes.com monthly. A members  e-mail list will be formed, and the An Gardia will be e-mailed. Those memberswithout computers will still receive the hard copy newsletter. The newsletter isprobably our biggest expense and this will be cost effective. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

A big thanks goes out to Vice Pres. Mike Mauro who did the leg work for our new Society pins. Society member Ed Johnson, owner of Universal Plating Co. River Ave. Prov. tel. 401-861-3530, did a fine job duplicating our original pins at a very reasonable price. If you haven't seen them, they are badge shaped with the colors of the Irish flag, and gold trimmed. The pins are $5.00 each and are being sold by Pres. Smith 458-0291, Vice Pres. Mauro  437-05768, or Secretary Gina  Merola 965-5305. We also deliver, and a libation would be nice ( for the holiday!).
Society vehicle decals, same shape & colors, are also available for $3.00 each. Spread the word!.

Obituary:

Please keep the following members

The Society morns the loss of one of our best, Ray McKenna, age 59,   after fighting a long illness. May he rest in peace.

Cranston Police Chief Thomas M. Harrington, Ret.  age 74, a 30 year veteran of the department, and he   also served as Registrar of Motor Vehicles for the State of R.I. for 15 years. He served his  country in the U.S. Army, his state at the MVD, and his city of Cranston, well. He was man of   integrity, and had a great sense of humor. He and his wife, Rosanna, also an administrator at the MVD served many of us well. ( and we certainly did pester them!- without a complaint.).

Lieutenant Stephen M. Crowshaw, East Providence Police Department, Ret. age 58, a 25 year member of the department, who served in many capacities, also founding the E.P.P.D. honor guard. He also was a U.S. Army veteran. Steve was know as a "go to guy", and always got the job done. Steve was also a brother Hibernian
Robert M. Hynes, age 74, a 30 year veteran officer of the R.I. Division of Probation & Parole. Bob was a founding member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Warwick Div. 1. and the Irish Famine  Committee. Bob, his late wife Martha, and his daughter Patty, were instrumental in the large success of  our Society 25th anniversay celebration in 2006 at Rhodes

   May they rest in peace.
